On Being a Real Westerner
A young kid who gets .22 rifle from his step-father Roy, starts to discover the feeling of power over others. But before he got the rifle he had to put Roy under siege and create a lot of hints that he wanted that rifle. Roy is a stingy person, but a little kids mom was more of an obstacle for him then Roy was. After getting the rifle under certain agreements, the kid decides to break those agreements and play with it anyway he likes. Dressin up as a soldier and playing as a westerner. The structure and the vivdness of the essay is good, but the ending is confusing and leaves the reader clueless.
An American Childhood
Seven year old tomboyish little girl who likes playing sports with others, ends up in trouble by throwing snowballs at random cars. A furious skinny redheaded men chases Mikey and seven year old girl just to have a word? I think he should of just stoped after running couple minutes. Scare them a little and go back to wherever he was going, I guess maybe he had nothing better to do; so he decided to chase them all the way until he catches them. The essay structure is good and the writer uses a lot of details that creates a lot of vivid images of what happened. The end of it is confusing and leaves the reader in a lot of questions.

Calling Home.
The story is well told and it has a lot of good details that lets the reader to remember it or even get involved in it. That was kind of sad, that mall cop or even real police decided to put 13 year old girl behind the bars for .75 cent shoplifting. What she did was not right, but putting 13 year old was so much worse. Eventhough she was getting excited, she realized what she did was wrong and her consequences. That is when she started to freak out inside and feel scared, but luckily her parents understood the situation and did not add punishment on top of hers that she alread experienced.
